Organisational data capability - 'data fitness' - is essential to ensure the maintenance of a high degree of relevancy and competitiveness within the dynamic and adaptive work environment in which businesses operate today. Not only has data been identified as a major asset underpinning Industry 4.0, but also, is becoming recognised as a vital strategic asset for industry, especially within the current climate of the COVID-19 pandemic. Building a 'data fit' organisation of the future with clearly defined data roles becomes fundamental to increasing an organisation's data capability.
In this presentation, we will share the learnings from a pilot research project sponsored by the Centre's industry partner Roy Hill. The findings can potentially inform how data related capabilities and roles can be better supported across the business. Specifically, by understanding capability priorities across roles.
