Gabriel is an engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry. He is passionate about asset management, reliability engineering and technology.
Gabriel completed his studies in Acoustic Engineering and Data Science. He has most recently been working with Komatsu in Chile, where he was responsible for conducting feasibility studies for introducing automated data-driven processes for assets health and condition assessment.
Gabriel will complete his PhD under the supervision of Dr Aloke Phatak at Curtin University. He will be focusing on research associated with Theme 2 – Support the Engineer.
Gabriel is focusing his PhD in developing new approaches for improving predictability of failures and the condition assessment of critical assets. His work will contribute to understand better ways to combine and analyse complex multimodal data in order to extract relevant information for symptoms identification. His work will include facing technical issues as nonlinear time series, incomplete data and non-stationary loading of machines.
His PhD Research Project is titled - Risk-Based Inspection Interval Estimation: A Practical Approach - https://jira-ittc-app.it.csiro.au/browse/PROJ-39
