Ulrich Engelke research focuses specifically on:
- Visual analytics and information visualisation techniques.
- Immersive analytics through virtual and mixed reality interfaces.
- Quantitative user experience and task performance evaluation.
- Ulrich application areas lie mainly within earth and environmental sciences.
Through his work in these areas, Ulrich hopes to make a positive impact on the future of our planet and its inhabitants.
Ulrich is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the
- 2015 OCE Julius Career Award
- 2014 CSIRO Excellence in Research Ethics Award as member of the Cognitive Engineering team, and
- 2006 Graduate School of Telecommunications (GST) PhD scholarship awarded through the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden.
Ulrich is a Chief Investigator in Theme 1 and represents CSIRO on the PhD Support Panel.
